Natural fighters

The Moerings team has recently expanded to include natural pest controllers: the Ringed Teal, a small species of duck. These ducks are known to remove duckweed efficiently, the Ringed Eels are also great natural slug controllers. By eating the duckweed, they indirectly help control the snail population, which is essential for maintaining a healthy plant environment.
What makes Ringed Eels especially suited to this work is their subtle grazing behavior. Unlike other methods that can cause damage to plants, Ringed Eels gently graze without flattening the plants.
With the addition of these ducks, Moerings is taking another step toward a fully sustainable approach. The team strives to integrate natural solutions into their practices, keeping biodiversity, environmental friendliness and maintaining a healthy ecosystem at the forefront.

The Moerings team is now deploying Ringed Eels, a small duck species that naturally controls duckweed and snails. These ducks effectively help without flattening the plants, which fits perfectly with Moerings' sustainable approach.
